Caracole: 21 Years of Service to the HIV/AIDS Community
Caracole’s Mission
is to provide safe, affordable housing and supportive services for
individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987, Caracole
House was the first licensed adult care facility in Ohio for people
living with HIV/AIDS. Today, Caracole provides direct care services
and housing to people with HIV/AIDS and their families along a continuum
of care. Over 1,100 people have been housed through Caracole’s
programs.

WLWT’s John Bateman (www.wlwt.com) will host That 70s Party at Universal Grille. The event, a large-scale silent auction, will also include a fashion show presented by Dillard’s of Kenwood. Auction items include: tickets to the Cincinnati Pops, a Night at Marriott River Center; a haircut from Hype Salon; a gift item from Metronation; tickets to New Stage Collective; a pedicure from Mitchell's Salon and Day Spa; tickets to The Cincinnati Ballet; a haircut from Hair Care Unlimited; and a Lancome gift bag from Macy’s of Kenwood. Special thanks to Mark Goins for organizing this terrific auction. There is no charge for this event; attendees are encouraged to bring toiletries or household items for the clients Caracole serves. On Sunday, May 18, 2008, Adonis the Nightclub will host the Second Annual Connected Thru Music. The evening is being produced by Chuck Beatty, a Caracole supporter, and promises to be an entertaining, Cabaret-style event. Last year, the show raised over $1300 to help support the clients of Caracole. There will be a reception at 6:00 with refreshments provided by Jeff Thomas Catering, and the Cabaret will begin at 7:30. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 761-1480 or by emailing mjmcclain@caracole.org. |

The staff of Below Zero Lounge, located in the Gateway District, will collaborate with Caracole this year on a series of Cabarets beginning on March 16th. Tickets are $25.00, or you can purchase the series for $65.00; all tickets include a drink ticket.
