Bernadette Peters brought down the house at the Aronoff Center for the Arts on August 18th, helping raise over $40,000 for Caracole and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Her performance was nothing less that stunning, with show-stopping songs one right after the other. Tom Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares, was on hand to kick off the evening with Caracole’s Vice President and sponsor Bernie McKay of Frost Brown Todd; both spoke of the significance of having a concert such as this to help raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS in Cincinnati. Ms. Peters attended a VIP reception after the concert with over 400 adoring fans, graciously greeting each person with a smile and kind words. In addition, she donated the proceeds from the sale of her CDs for the evening to Caracole.
