Caracole, Inc. provides safe, affordable
housing, and supportive services for individuals and families living
with HIV/AIDS. |
Our History |
Founded in 1987, Caracole House was the first fully
licensed adult care facility that housed people with HIV/AIDS. Today,
Caracole is an organization of 25 staff members and numerous volunteers
in its 19th year of service to the Greater Cincinnati community. |
Our Services |
Caracole House – Caracole House has been
offering affordable, comfortable housing for adults with HIV/AIDS
since 1988. People who reside in Caracole House receive case management
and referral services, as well as mutual caring and 24-hour support
from staff and residents. |

Caracole Recovery Community – The Caracole
Recovery Community opened its doors in 2000 and offers housing and
a program of recovery from chemical dependencies for homeless adults
living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to providing case management and
referral services, the Recovery Community offers a 24-hour supportive
environment allowing the residents to attain self-sufficiency and
recover from addiction. |

Shelter Plus Care – Shelter Plus Care is
a rent subsidy program for homeless individuals and families with
an adult member who has HIV/AIDS. HUD provides the rent subsidy. Caracole
provides case management and supportive services to help these individuals
and families find and maintain decent housing, and stay together. |
